Cookie Policy

Effective October 2, 2026 · Last updated October 2, 2026

In short: We use a handful of cookies. Most are needed to log you in and remember your theme. Two optional ones measure traffic and credit the creator whose link brought you here. You can switch those off below and the product keeps working.

This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what governs.

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, do much the same job. This page lists every one we use.

1. What we use

Name	Type	Purpose	Lasts
sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token	Strictly necessary	Keeps you logged in. Set by Supabase, our authentication provider. Without these you cannot use an account.	Session, refreshed while you stay logged in
sh-consent	Strictly necessary	Remembers your choice on this banner so we do not ask again.	12 months
studenthub-theme	Functional	Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.	12 months
shref	Analytics and attribution (optional)	If you arrived through a referral or creator link, this remembers the code so it can be applied when you sign up, and so we can tell which creator sent you.	30 days
sh-tracked-… (session storage)	Analytics (optional)	Stops one page view being counted twice when you reload. Cleared when you close the tab.	Until the tab closes

2. Analytics without cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookie free: it sets nothing on your device and does not build a profile of you across sites.

We also record visits in our own database to see which pages bring people in. Those records hold a one-way hash of your IP address and browser type, never the raw address, so they cannot be traced back to you.

3. Advertising

We do not use advertising cookies. There are no third-party ad trackers, no retargeting pixels, and no data brokers on this site. We do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

4. Your choices

Use the buttons below to change your mind at any time. Turning optional cookies off does not limit any feature. The one visible effect is that if a creator or friend referred you, we can no longer credit them.

Optional cookies are currently off (you have not made a choice yet).

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you being able to log in.
